How to: Resist Technique - Creative Team Thursday with Emma Tildesley

Hi it’s Emma again!

So, in my second tutorial for Jessica Sporn Designs Creative Team, I decided to share one of my favorite techniques with you using the Lacy Lotus Repeat Stencil.

It's a simple resist technique, but one that I really enjoy, which adds a wonderful resist effect background for your art journal pages.

I hope that you enjoy this video!  You can watch it on YouTube and while you’re there, go and have a peek at the other creative team members fabulous tutorials.

This is just one of a range of many beautiful stencils and stamps that Jessica designs, so be sure to take a look.

See you next time!

DIY Spooky Halloween Tags

I designed a brand new Halloween stencil for Stencil Girl!  Here is how it looks, and here are some tags I made with it.

I started off stenciling some of the motifs on circles I punched from an orange gelli print.

And then I went to town, using some of the Distress Inks techniques I learned from Marjie Kemper's class on Craftsy.  Here's a video of my process.

You can also watch DIY Spooky Halloween Tags on YouTube.  I hope this post gave you some ideas.

For some more inspiration, check out THIS awesome tutorial by Kristin Van Valkenburgh.  In her video tutorial, Kristin masterfully demonstrates how she used masking fluid, rub-ons, sea salt, splatters, smudge stick, sparkles, changes in registration and more!

Are you creating anything with a Halloween theme?  Share your links in the comments below.

Until next time,
xoxo

Rosh Hashanah Cards with Stamps and Stencils

I'm on the Stencil Girl Talk blog today with a tutorial showing how I used various resist techniques to make these cards using my stencils from Stencil Girl and some of my stamps from Rubbermoon.

This is a follow up to the tutorial I posted last week on Marit Barentson's Quirky Dutch Summer blog, where I showed the step outs for this card:

I hope you'll hop over to Stencil Girl Talk and take a look!
