Stencil Scavenger Hunt Resuts

Congratulations to everyone who participated in in our 7 Day Stencil Scavenger Hunt with stencils from Stencil Girl! I hope you all enjoyed "the hunt" and getting to know Stencil Girl's fabulous collection a little better!  Most of the images I created are now available as prints on Society6!

And now, for the big reveal of the stencils used and the giveaway winners!

Here is the image and the stencils used for Day One:

and the winner is Lissa Goldsmith!  The Apples & Pomegranates stencil is yours Lissa.  Congratulations!

The image and the stencils for Day Two are:

And the winner is Claire Kiehle!  Congratulations Claire.  I will be sending you the Medallions stencil.

The lady in Day 3 is close to my heart:

Caroline Duncan is the winner for Day 3!  Congrats Carolyn.  I will be sending you the Medieval Leaves stencil!

Day Four was this edgy lady and these stencils:

Congratulations Trish Wood!  Squares and Circles is yours!

Day Five featured my daughters and these stencils:

Thank you all for your sweet comments about my girls!  Karen Buchanan won this one, and I'll be sending her the Flying Tulips.

Day Six stumped a lot of people, who thought the image in the wings was Michelle Ward's Marrakech stencil.   But it was actually a small detail from Nathalie Kalbach's Elephant March.  When I first used her stencil in this blog hop, I knew that eventually I would use this detail on its own one day!

Random.org picked Claudine C.  as the winner of this hunt!  I will be sending you the Retro Flowers and Circles Stencil.

Last but not least - Day Seven.   I wish I had boots like these...

And the winner of this one is Lorrie Takeda!  Borders 9J is yours!

Last but not least, there were 16 women who participated every single day.  I decided to do one more drawing of just these women, and the winner is  Dee Spillane!

I will be sending you the Sporn Flowers Positive Stencil.  Enjoy!

Winners - please email your addresses to jessicabethsporn (at) gmail (dot) com!

I hope you enjoyed this Scavenger Hunt as much as I did.  I really enjoyed thinking outside the box with these stencils and hope I've given you some inspiration and ideas.  I will be taking a blogging break as we travel to Antigua, Guatemala for our 9th service trip!

I have posts scheduled for the 15th for One Little Word, and 24th for a special Stencil Girl/Walnut Hollow blog hop, and will look forward to seeing you all when I return.

Your comments make me so happy and let me know you were here. I read and treasure every comment and will happily answer any questions as soon as I can.

Day 7 of the Stencil Scavenger Hunt!

This is the FINAL DAY of our Stencil Scavenger Hunt.    (A REVIEW OF THE RULES IS AT THE END OF THIS POST.)  Just click here to see all seven days of art and step outs!

All the stencils used are from STENCIL GIRL!

Let me know if you've had fun doing this Scavenger Hunt - and any suggestions you might have for the future!

Here is the SEVENTH art journal page for the Stencil Scavenger Hunt.   (This is available as a print on Society6.)

Recognize any stencils yet?  Here are the photo-hints...

Here's how the page started - with some glued tissue paper stenciled with ... you have to guess!

I sketched out some cowboy boots, and used the sketch to help me as I took away some of the background on my art journal page.

Can you guess which stencil I used to create the "spur" and other embellishment on the boots? How about the circles (hint!) on the blue background?

Finally, I added a border (hint!) at the bottom to ground the page.

There are four stencils used here (the 5th - the one I used for the "stitching" along the sides of the boots -- is from Stencil Club, so you can't find that on the website).  Can you find 3?

Here's the link to Stencil Girl.   And here is a review of the rules:
  • I am using my stencils, and some of the gorgeous stencils from other Stencil Girl artists.
  • Each day, I will post a finished page, plus some step out photos.
  • I will not tell you which stencils I used.
  • To play, YOU have to go to the Stencil Girl website and figure out which stencils I used.
  • Once you know, EMAIL ME at jessicabethsporn (at) gmail (dot) com instead of commenting.  (Of course feel free to leave a comment to say hi!)  Why?  Because if you comment, then EVERYONE will know the answer!  You have until 9AM EST the following day to email me.
  • I will compile all the correct comments each day, and put the names into a hat and pick a random winner.  That means seven people will win stencils.  The more days you play, the more chances you will have to win!
  • The winner will receive one of the stencils used in that day's design.
  • I will announce all the winners and the stencils they won after Day 7!
REMEMBER, DON'T POST YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS - THAT WILL GIVE IT AWAY!

INSTEAD, EMAIL ME AT JESSICABETHSPORN (AT) GMAIL (DOT) COM with your three best guesses.
CHECK BACK TOMORROW after 10AM EST
as I WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS OF ALL 7 DAYS!

Day Five of the Stencil Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to Day FIVE of a 7 DAY Stencil Scavenger Hunt.    (A REVIEW OF THE RULES IS AT THE END OF THIS POST.)

All the stencils used are from STENCIL GIRL!

Here is the fifth art journal page for the Stencil Scavenger Hunt.   This one honors my two lovely daughters!

The page started with some random journaling and two stencils ...

I added another stenciled layer...

And some silver modeling cream scraped through a Greek themed (hint!) stencil...

I framed my girls' faces (that's a hint!), and added some dresses I cut out from scrap paper and stenciled using punchinella sequin waste.

I added some words and more journaling to finish the page.  (My older daughter, Mariel, is in the Czech Republic on a Fulbright teaching scholarship.  You can read about her adventures here!)

So - five stencils used in this page - all from Stencil Girl.   Can you name three of them?  Here's a review of the rules:

Stencil Scavenger Hunt Day 4

Welcome to Day FOUR of our Stencil Scavenger Hunt.    (A REVIEW OF THE RULES IS AT THE END OF THIS POST.)

All the stencils used are from STENCIL GIRL!

Here's the artwork for Day Four!

Maybe you can already pick out 3 of the stencils I used.  But there's a fourth...

I started my page with this beautiful stencil:

Then I added this one:

I used a home-made silhouette to mask off part of the page, and then covered most of the rest of it with yellow paint and another stencil.  (I will be teaching a class on using stencils and silhouettes at the Ink Pad in NY on April 5!)

And finally, I added one more stenciled design to give the upper left part of my page more interest.

So - four stencils used in this page - all from Stencil Girl.   Can you name three of them?  Here's a review of the rules:
  • I am using my stencils, and some of the gorgeous stencils from other Stencil Girl artists.

Day 3 of the Stencil Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to Day THREE of our Stencil Scavenger Hunt.    (A REVIEW OF THE RULES IS AT THE END OF THIS POST.)

All the stencils used are from STENCIL GIRL!

Here is the third piece of artwork for the Stencil Scavenger Hunt.   You can click on any of the pictures to see them bigger.

And the step outs...  It started like this: (two stencils here!)

Then I added this beautiful stencil, rotating it to add it in two layers.

I painted in the face, and then added some more stenciling for the black in the hair, and the decorations on her dress...

I added some stenciled elements around her head (hint - they are by the same designer who created that swirly pattern...), and some words.

So - five stencils used in this page - all from Stencil Girl.   Can you name three of them?  Here's a review of the rules:
