How To Create an Easy Collage Art Journal Page

Last month, in this "How To" series, I shared a tutorial on How to Create a Stash of Background Papers.  If you haven't seen it, there's a video showing how I used gesso to create resists, with the result being a stash of very versatile papers.

This month, I want to share how I used those papers to create a simple, colorful art journal page celebrating spring.

For this page, I used punches to create various shapes, and then used paint, markers and pastels to make shadows and marks.

But if you don't have punches, just cut out random shapes with your scissors like I did in this post -- the result will still be fun, whimsical and colorful!

Here's a peek at my process.

You can also watch "How to Create an Easy Collage Art Journal Page" on YouTube here.

I hope this post gave you some inspiration to jump into your journal with some collage.  If you do create something inspired by this post, please let me know so I can share your work!
