Hello Jessica, Thank you so much for sharing your energy and passion! I Loved your statement "Nothing you learn in life is ever wasted" "You don't have to do one thing your whole life"
ReplyDeleteThis really hit home for me as I started creating and painting again after an accident 2.5 years ago that crushed my hand/amputated finger and had to retire from my 23 year career as a nurse anesthetist. BTW I love your Whimsical Art and love the house boxes... :)
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your journey with me. I am so glad you are painting again.

ReplyDeleteMany thanks for stopping by and leaving such kind words. Happy creating!
DeleteI love the icons of the Russian Orthodox Church. You inspire me to bring them into my work. I' m learningto draw portraits and some of the faces that emerge are quite soulful. I have always been intregued by the reverse or negative images ofstencils. I clean them by using them on paper after I have used the main or positive image of the stencil. It hasnever occurred to me to use a baby wipe to get the same or similar effect. I will try the Matte Medium as well. I've also wanted to use modeling paste through stencils for a textured surface. So many Ideas, now its time to apply them. Thank you for your inspiration!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Annie! Check out this artist: http://www.christinasaj.com She is of Ukrainian descent and incorporates a lot of that iconography in her work.
