You Are Loved

There are some artists connected through Facebook who participate in The Angel Project.  If we know someone who is having a hard time, because of sickness or other reasons, we alert each other with the name, address and details of what they're going through.  We send the person "Happy Mail" or "Encourage-Mail."  I like to have some ATCs and cards handy to send out.  Recently, I created a bunch of cards using my "Judy's Trees" stencil from Stencil Girl.

Using Wendy Vecchi's Black embossing paste and a gelli print, I scraped through the bottom left tree, which I think of as "The Tree of Life."  I added dots of Scribbles 3D paint for fruit and color.

While the tree was drying, I stenciled a background on Kraft card stock using the Medallions stencil - one of my favorite all-over designs.  I started with white,

Then I changed the registration slightly and re-stenciled using yellow.

Then I changed the registration of the stencil again and added blue:

Finally, I glazed over the entire surface with Turqouise (Phthalo) and glazing medium.

Once the tree dried and I cut it out to mount it on the card stock, it was too dark against the blue background.  This was a happy accident, because I painted over it with gold paint, leaving black around the edges for a shadow effect.  I ended up really liking how it looked!

I did a few of them, and now have cards ready to send.

I decorated envelopes for them using the Seven Hearts stencil.   Hopefully this mail brings some happiness and joy.

If you know anyone who would benefit from mail like this, please let me know and I'll alert The Angel Project.

And let someone know today that he or she is loved.  It's a wonderful gift.
