When I use my gelli plate, I need to clear my work table, and set up lots of papers, tags, deli paper, and more all ready to go, a place to let the papers dry, and lots of available paint, stencils and other mark making tools. And I need to set aside time - there's no rushing the gelli plate, because once you get into it, you don't want to stop.
That's what happened to me yesterday. Time went by and before I knew it, I had a stack of gorgeous papers, tags, and more to use in my artwork.
These two were made using the Flowers, Pomegranates & Leaves.
I used the Medieval Leaves stencil for these two.
Here, I was testing out a new Stencil Girl stencil that hasn't been released yes. Soon!
I've been in a tag making kind of mood, and so I made some tags with some of these papers and the Doors & Windows stencil.
Here's a video of some of my Gelli Plate Play Date.

I was inspired by this beautiful art journal spread by Karen Grunberg:
To create a collage with all my scraps.
I'm not sure yet what it will be, but I'm loving the colors!

Love watching you work and as always.... the end results are the best...
ReplyDeleteLove the tags and that faux woven sheet! I recently did an Affirmation Art Doll using tiny woven paper strips for her dress so especially appreciate how you did yours -- its cleverly simpler! :-D ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! Same thing happens to me. I just can't stop at one, or two, or three, or....
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I like the new stencil it looks so cool, is it a tea cup? Your colors really stand out. I also needs lots of space for gelli printing, the papers get all over the place. :) have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost like a form of meditation when the creative process takes you so far out of yourself that element of time is non existent! Gorgeous papers I want a geli plate so bad...I think there is only one place in Canada that sells them...I have to order it from back east I guess! Called all around B.C. to no avail! Love the collage too! Beautiful work as always!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
