I was beyond honored when Mary Nasser asked me to participate in a blog hop with one of her new stencils for STENCIL GIRL! I love her work and how she uses maps and color. There is something very organic about her work; I'm a big fan.
Mary asked me to use Map 6 for this blog hop.
I decided to work in my journal and pay homage to her in my color choices, as Mary often uses orange and turquoise in her work.
As I worked in my journal, I spied some tissue paper on which I had previously stamped windows from my doors and windows stencil. I love how the geometry of the window panes related to the shapes in Mary's stencil.
As I worked, I was thinking about the people who we meet in life, some who just pass through, and others who stay. I used one of Pam Carriker's stamps to add some faces to my page, as well as images from an old encyclopedia. (Pam's on the hop too!)
I videotaped my process, and you can watch it here, or on You Tube!
I loved working with this stencil, and know I'll be using it again and again.
And what would a hop be without a giveaway? Mary is giving away a set of her four new stencils. ALL the comments on each blog participating in the hop will be eligible for the drawing. All you have to do is leave a comment by October 4 - 11:59PM Central Time. The more blogs you comment on in the blog hop, the more chances you have of winning!
