Welcome to the "Embrace the Rain" Stencil Test Drive, using my Rain Stencil from Stencil Girl.
and featuring the amazing creativity of:
Nataša May, and
On Wednesday, I am off to Art-Is-You in Nashville. The Art-Is-You retreats are nurturing, full of creativity, and lots of fun. I wanted to have a special journal to record my time there, and decided to make one for this test drive!
I was inspired to make the journal in the shape of a cloud because I was using the Rain stencil, and I'll be on Cloud 9 at Art-Is-You!
Here's a quick video to show you how I made it.
I hope this inspires you to create your own journal. All you need are some old boxes, paper, duct tape, a rubber band, paint and stamps, and a playful attitude! I got the idea to make a duct tape journal from watching Diana Trout's wonderful videos here and here, and to use the grocery boxes from Jennibelle's terrific cereal box tutorial here.
Don't forget to visit
Nataša May, and
to see how they used the Rain Stencil!

Hi, Jessica, and thanks for the tutorial on making your fab mini. It will make the perfect journal for recording the special moments that are about to happen at Art-is-You (Corrine told me about it, but it was too soon for me to attend--planning on it next year!) I am loving your stencils. I have LIKED you on fb and already follow your blog! Also have had your "thingy" on my sidebar on my blog for a few months!
ReplyDeleteHi, again, Jessica...just visited the Stencil Girl website and did a bit of shopping, but your RAIN stencil is not yet on the site. Do you know how long it will be before its up for sale? There are a few that I want, but don't want to order now and then pay for shipping again when RAIN is available...not cheap, just "thrifty"! ;-) Kay
