  2. Jessica I adore how you use this stencil. Fabulous cape! I have a question. How do you clean the stencil girl products stencil? I use it with watercolor. Thanks a lot! :)

    1. Hi Elisa - If you're using stencils with watercolor, you will want to clean them since each time you wet them, you will activate them. You can clean them with a baby wipe, or spritz them with water and wipe them with a paper towel. If I have a bunch, I will sometimes take them in the shower with me! Just make sure you dry them well and they'll be ready for your next use!

    2. Thanks Jessica! :) One last question please... As I use a stencil in watercolor with my brush, I noticed that the paint also gets under the stencil. The result is that I wasn't able to get the exact stencil shape but a smudge one--with all the paint that gets underneath. I hope I make sense. Any advice? Thanks a lot!

    3. If you're using watercolors from a tube or tablet (as opposed to sprays), then I would recommend applying them to the stencil with a cosmetic sponge, which will absorb a lot of the water. You need to mix a paste that is very saturated with color and as "dry" as possible. If you're using your brush, angle it so you brush from the plastic on the stencil toward the opening. I hope that makes sense. This way, you are directing your paint away from the open edges. Let me know how it works out!!
