The Power of Doing It For Someone Else

At the start of every yoga class, I ask my students to set an intention and dedicate the energy of the practice they are about to do.  There is something about doing it for someone else, that gives you more strength and determination than if you were just doing it for yourself.

There's also something empowering about creating art for someone else.  That energy can make you feel expansive and tap into your inherent goodness, so that you're creating from a place of freedom and love.  That's how I felt when I created this journal for Glenda, who won it by commenting on this post.

Here's a short look at how I created it and a peek at the inside pages.  Hope you like it Glenda!

  18. Seeing your video makes me want to go into my studio and start working on something, anything... I have been suffering from a lack in mojo way too long now.... Seeing your art is inspiring so maybe I might be able to 'break through the walls' today.

  20. I made my book following your directions in this video last night! A gift for my soon to be 9 year old grand daughter, who is very arty herself and will probably want to learn to make her own book. I'd love to share your video on my blog, with your permission. If it's okay with you, how do I get it there?
If not I understand. thanks either way. I had such fun making the book.
