Be TRUE to YOU

It's time for Color This Quote at Artists in Blogland.

This month's quote is:

"Be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else."  Judy Garland.

I was inspired to use lots of color, my Borders and Jump for Joy stencils, and lots of stamps, to create this art journal page (I added the quote in Photoshop):

Hope you'll interpret this quote and share your creation with us at Artists in Blogland!

Thank you for visiting! I read and treasure every comment and will answer any questions as quickly as I can.

  11. Ohhh WOW I LOVE this one!!! The colors are just gorgeous, and the layers look so deep - like I could reach right in to the page! I adore how you used your stencil, and the details you added to her hair! Kinda reminds me of dreads!

    1. Maybe that's because I've always wanted dreads.... I had a friend (a white Jewish girl) who had the most amazing dreads. They went down to her waist. She would wrap them around her head and tie them with a scarf which made her look a bit Egyptian. But she cut them this year. They were really heavy and she was getting headaches. :)

  13. I love this! What a gorgeous background of colors and fun borders interspersed. I am confused though, it this a mix of digi and paper arts?

    1. Hola Marjie! I did the background and stenciled the girl's form in my art journal. Then I scanned it, opened up the jpg in Photoshop, and added the quote digitally. So that's not my real handwriting... Also, for fun, I used a noise and then paint daubs filter on the black stenciled girl - just to play - before putting in the text. That made the black form look like it was raised up on the page.
