More thinking about the future because of the Fall Fearless and Fly challenge at Artists in Blogland. On the left of this two-page art journal spread is a very "stream of consciousness" list of things I hope to do and be someday - que algún día si Dios quiere -- as my husband would say!
How could I ever be all that I hope to be, or do all that hope to do? Every day new, and one step at a time.
You can link up to Artists in Blogland through Sunday. I hope you will! If you don't, I hope you'll check in on Monday for the second challenge! Ronda Palazzari will be our guest artist! We're very excited.
Today's prompt at Artsyville's List it Tuesday is "I'm a Sucker for..." Here's what I did:
I realize I left off something very important to me --
ALL THINGS FRENCH: the language, the country, the history, the food... - Alors là!
Thank you for visiting! If you are so moved, please leave a comment. Hearing from you means the world to me.

Today's prompt at Artsyville's List it Tuesday is "I'm a Sucker for..." Here's what I did:
I collaged book pages and then scraped turquoise and white acrylic paint with a credit card. Lots of little bits of handmade papers and leftovers from my stash went into creating the hearts, which I then doodled around with black fluid acrylics and a tiny paint brush. The border is stamped with a stamp I hand carved in Julie Balzer's class. I journaled my list around the hearts. In case you can't read it, it goes like this:
I'm a Sucker for (in no particular order):
SUNSHINE: basking in it, the sight of it streaming through the window, sun glimmering off wet tree leaves, any kind of sunshine connects me with all things holy and sacred;
ART: classes, retreats, paint, pastels, stencils, stamps, markers, pens, notebooks, and now clay!;
LETTERS: fonts, lettering, handwritten letters, old air mail stationary, old mail, letter stamps, and word eytmology;
YOGA: philosophy, classes, clothes, books, jewelry, art;
FLANNEL: sheets, p.j.s, bathrobes, quilts, blankets -- anything cozy!;
LITTLE THINGS: miniatures, collectibles, cameos, doll houses, fairy villages, decorative erasers, pebbles -- anything tiny;
A FEW FOODIE THINGS: Cinnamon toast, guacamole, the roasted chestnuts you get on the street in New York at Christmas time, really crispy and salty french fries, and sweetened condensed milk!;
A WORTHY CAUSE - I will do anything for someone in need - which is how we've ended up sponsoring 3 families in Guatemala, 3 children through Save The Children, and our foster son;
ANYTHING MY DAUGHTERS NEED...
"If you need me, call me, I'll be there in a hurry, no need to worry..."
I realize I left off something very important to me --
ALL THINGS FRENCH: the language, the country, the history, the food... - Alors là!

Great list! We all seem to gravitate to stationery, paper, journals, and art supplies...no surprise! : )
ReplyDeleteOnce again, my list (tho not all written out) and your list are quite similar. I love Yoga and am quite proficient at it... in my head...I'm too mangled to bend :(
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for faces and love yours! Paint more, more, more..
What a gorgeous page--both of them--collage and paint and glue, oh my, it sounds like lots of fun to create, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful lists... and beautiful art journalling!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're joining us for Blogtoberfest12.

You are an earth angel :). So much LOVE and PEACE in this post. I feel happy visiting today!. Your hearts page is totally gorgeous and I'm happy 'Fall Fearless' is launched with great enthusiasm from fellow artists & crafters :). Hugs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful pages. I love them. And I love that you are a sucker for a worthy cause. That makes my heart sooo happy.
ReplyDeleteLove your journal pages. And your list of things you are a sucker for - they are very similar to what my list would be!!
ReplyDeleteLove your girl with all the flowers on her head! And your list-page looks great. So lovely to read a bit more about you ☺
ReplyDeleteJ, I just love your pages.. no surprise there, but I just love you who are.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely GORGEOUS journal page! i'm a sucker for little things too... now I want to make another page from all of these lists reminding me of things I forgot!
ReplyDeletep.s. your lady in the top painting? I want her hair!
Oh my gosh, what are you trying to do to me?! ha! ha!.. I've now been inspired to join both groups you mention here today.. (They both just look like so much fun, I couldn't help myself!)... Love your Fearless Friday spread! Your design and color are gorgeous; and honestly, the theme is perfect for me. I don't know how I'd survive if I didn't handle things one day, one step at a time! I'm very easily overwhelmed sometimes.. As for your "list", I love that too, and maybe I'll work on my own "list" tonight while watching t.v.!.. You're work is an inspiration, and I'm all fired up for my day now! Hope yours is a great one! ~tina
ReplyDeleteSunshine, art, letters! Totally! There is also something to that "Please, mama!" :)

ReplyDeleteSunshine and Little Things those are good ones.
ReplyDeleteLove these pages!! I am a sucker for lists (and tiny things) but know that I can not take on any more right now. Thank you for your kind words on my blog, I so appreciate the encouragement!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was on Julie Baltzer's blog yesterday, my eye catched your piece already. Now today, while hopping around and ending up at looking at the thumbnails over at Artists in blogland - again I pick your piece out of all those... so that means you tickle something in me, right? Enough to at least leave you a comment to say that I LOVE your artwork! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love your face part Two! Her hair is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
